Excerpts from “A Tribute to Suvi”

EXCERPTS FROM “A TRIBUTE TO SUVI” – AS WRITTEN IN OCTOBER 2015

My sweet Suvi-Girl is now running free forever in doggy heaven.  A tragic accident last week took her away from me, leaving an immense void and emptiness.  Suvi came to me as a little 6-pound bear cub puppy in June 2012, capturing my heart as she lived every day with eagerness, joy, love, and loyalty.  She has been by my side through many transitions and experiences, as well as in day-to-day routines.  Suvi has kept me balanced.  We’ve explored many more trails and cool places than I ever would’ve done on my own, and have met more people than I would have on my own.  She has been a most loyal and loving companion, as well as a patient confidante.  I loved her to pieces and she loved me right back.  I miss her immensely.

Some might say “she was just a dog” or “just a pet”.  Loyalty, love, joy, energy, silliness, sweetness, and gentleness are more than “just something or other”.  They are gifts to embrace; and they came to me in the form of this sweet little girl every single day for the past three-and-a-half years.

I have been able to summarize some thoughts this way:  loss and grief cannot be measured nor compared.  Loss of job, of home, of health, or a spouse or brother or sister or mother or father or child, or loss of a dear pet:  any loss changes the rhythm of life.  As I face the loss of a beautiful part of daily rhythm, I am solaced that Suvi led a love-filled life and am comforted by her boundless love and memory.

Run free, Suvi-Girl!  Swim with delight, Suvi-Love!

I am forever grateful for all you taught me in your life here on this earth.
